In the history of the Arab-Muslim world, the name Andalusia carries with it more than the evocation of a fertile soil in gardens, in literature and science. It is one of those places, so rare, in which human memory stops to figure a dream: that of a frontier land where cultures mingled a time of harmonious and peaceful way. And although the reality may not be entirely consistent with that dream, places remain precious and coveted where a piece of history relies on us evoke some remarkable facts, that souls are quick to the consider and paint them as self indulgent features. Thus Arab Andalusia keep that image, not déméritée but served by an accommodating memory of a land more beautiful, more tolerant and more open than the common land.
